APIC 2019 will be held Wednesday, June 12-Friday, June 14, 2019, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Healthcare professionals from all practice settings who are involved in infection prevention should attend.
We are glad you have chosen to attend APIC 2019! APIC has developed an orientation session to share, learn, and network with colleagues about the wonderful opportunities available during the conference. The First Timers/International Orientation Session will be held on Tuesday, June 11 from 3:30 -4:30 PM. The First Timers/International Reception will be held after the session on Tuesday, June 11 from 4:30 – 5:30 PM.
Plan to arrive early and stay late! APIC encourages attendees to arrive on Tuesday, June 11, to participate in the evening Welcome Reception which takes place from 5:30-7 PM.
Yes! There is a cost of $25 for a Spouse/Guest to attend the Welcome Reception on Tuesday, June 11 at 5:30-7:30 PM. There is no discounted fee for a spouse/guest to attend the full conference, however. For a list of registration rates, click here.
For health and safety considerations, children under the age of 16 are not permitted to attend any functions, including the Closing Reception, Exhibit Hall or educational programming. Children 16 years and older must be registered as a guest or have an event ticket to attend any function.
Attire at APIC 2019 is business casual. Feel free to be comfortable in slacks, polo shirts, cardigans (for chilly meeting rooms), blazers, blouses and most importantly, comfortable shoes.
The average weather in June for Philadelphia is 60 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit and the chance of a wet June day in Philadelphia is essentially constant, so it is advisable to bring an umbrella.
The Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is located approximately 10 miles from downtown Philadelphia, which is where the convention center and all hotels are located. A one-way light rail ride costs $6.75 and taxi rides are flat rate of $29. Please verify with a local taxi operator before your trip.

REGISTRATION

All registration cancellations and refund requests must be made in writing by May 6, 2019. An 80% refund of registration fees will be given for cancellations received by that date. No refunds will be granted for requests date-stamped after May 6, 2019. Submit all requests to APIC Annual Conference Registration via email at annual@apic.org.

APIC regrets that refunds will not be given for no-shows. All requests for exceptions to the cancellation/refund policy must be submitted in writing by the registrant with appropriate documentation no later than June 28, 2019. After that time, no refund considerations will be made.

Substitutions within this program are gladly accepted. A substitution of your full registration is permitted prior to the conference by submitting a written request to annual@apic.org. Onsite transfers are not permitted. Only one substitution is permitted per original registrant. The individual submitting the substitution request is responsible for all financial obligations (any balance due) associated with that substitution before the change can be made. Badge sharing, splitting, and reprints are strictly prohibited.
Registration will continue onsite at APIC 2019.

Yes, there is a Welcome Reception ticket included in your registration if you registered for as a Full Conference attendee. The ticket is non-transferable.

The complete compilation of the APIC 2019 sessions, events, and resources will be available after the conference. This audio recording of all recorded sessions is complimentary to all full conference registrants. Other attendees will have the ability to purchase the recording online.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Please visit the Online Program Planner.
After the conference, you will receive a link via email to fill out evaluation forms for individual sessions and overall conference evaluations. Once you have completed the evaluations, you will be able to print your Continuing Education and Attendance Certificates. All evaluations must be completed by August 2019 as you will not be issued a Continuing Education certificate after this date.
We will not be scanning badges at APIC 2019. Attendees must self-report sessions attended; therefore, at the end of each session, please record the session title and number in your APIC 2019 program book or in the APIC 2019 Mobile App.

ABSTRACT AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Oral abstracts will be presented daily during APIC 2019. Please refer to the APIC 2019 program or the APIC 2019 Mobile App.
Posters will be displayed Wednesday, June 12, 2019–Friday, June 14, 2019. Presenters will be in attendance to answer questions on Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.

The poster mounting board area is 4 feet high by 8 feet wide. You may use as much space as desired, but it cannot exceed 4 feet x 8 feet.
APIC will provide push-pins to mount your poster. However, thumbtacks are sufficient for single sheets, but anything more requires push-pins with longer shafts.
